RDO (formerly the OTE) was created following the decision by the European Timeshare Federation in February 1998 to integrate all national timeshare trade associations into one pan-European direct membership Organisation: The RDO (formerly the OTE). The former timeshare councils in over ten countries act now as its national chapters, and a significant number of Timeshare related companies are RDO (formerly the OTE) members ruled by a strict code of ethics. RDO (formerly the OTE) works closely with the DTI, OFT and governments at European and National level, aiming to create a fair legislation for Timeshare and protection to consumers. Timeshare Consumer Association is a non-profitable independent organisation, recognised by most industry bodies in the UK. Concentrates on exposure of anti-consumer practices and lobbying with government authorities for improved consumer protection an inforcement. Some views are considered by some to be negative and not to hold great faith in the future of Timeshare.
