In Aberfoyle, Scotland, on the bonnie banks of Loch Ard is where you will find timeshare with Macdonald Forest Hills Hotel and Spa. Accommodation throughout the resort is of a consistently high standard, with options ranging between one, two, and three bedroom apartments. All have balconies, and some feature en-suite saunas so that you can truly make the most of your relaxing time away. Leisure activities are varied, from the indoor pool and spa facilities, to mountain biking, canoeing, and trout fishing. You can even tour local distilleries and partake of a sip or two at the local bar. Traditional Three Bedroom Apartment

With a view of the beautiful gardens and loch, this dog friendly apartment offers a double bedroom (en suite bath), two twin bedrooms, large family bathroom with whirlpool bath, and a shower room. Also included is an open plan kitchen, private balcony, dining and living area with a sofa bed, and a private sauna. Facilities include WIFI, Iron, Hairdryer, TV, Toiletries, Towels, Bedlinen and Nespresso Machine.

Gym, Swimming Pool and Spa
Resort guests have full access to the leisure facilities at no extra cost. Enjoy a few lengths in the 18 metre pool with plenty natural daylight, sweat it out in the gym which boasts Technogym equipment or let off some steam in the thermal facilities. Other fun things at this resort include a childrens play area, outdoor chess/draughts board, football pitches and outdoor tennis courts. Within the leisure building youll also find snooker and pool tables as well as a darts board. For an additional charge, indulge in a luxurious ELEMIS treatment at the spa, tuck into a delicious meal in the Garden Restaurant, or for more casual dining try Rafters restaurant (within the leisure complex). After a busy day, relax with a refreshing drink of your choice on the hotel patio, overlooking the stunning grounds and view across the Loch to Ben Lomond.

Explore the Area
Loch Ard offers a magnificent backdrop, and the Forest Park is packed with walking routes and cycle trails so visitors can easily explore and appreciate the stunning scenery and wonderful wildlife. The Loch is also used for water sports such as stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking and canoeing available from the Loch Ard Adventure Centre (www.lochardadventure.co.uk) which is directly across the road from the resort. They also run gorge walking, archery and cliff jumping. Next to the resort is Ledard Farm (www.greattimescotland.com) where Fergus and Gregor Wood (father and son) offer clay pigeon shooting, presentations on the history of the farm, highland weaponry and highland agriculture and sheep dogs. Just 4 miles along the loch you will find Aberfoyle, a pretty village full of small shops and cafes with a Tourist Information. The Scottish Wool Centre offers a wide selection of gifts, and puts on regular sheepdog displays, showing the dogs rounding up their flock of ducks! The Queen Elizabeth Forest Park extends over 50,000 acres from Loch Lomond’s eastern shore to the mountains of Strathyre. Start at the excellent Lodge Forest Visitor Centre, just up the hill from Aberfoyle, for great walks, wildlife trails, ranger-led activities and more. Here you will also find tree-top activity specialists Go Ape (goape.co.uk/locations/aberfoyle). The bustling town of Callander is worth a visit for those on the lookout for locally produced artisan gifts.

This is a wonderful opportunity to experience some of the most beautiful sights of Scotland whilst being conveniently located for the two major cities Glasgow (40mins) and Edinburgh (1 hour). I have been holidaying at Forest Hills since the 1980s, when I came with my parents; from as long ago as I can remember until I went to university. I took on the timeshare (originally Spruce 12) in 2018, when my own children were of school age, as it is during the school spring break. The original apartment has now been removed from the club so we are now allocated either Spruce 2 or Spruce 4 – conveniently the closest units to the hotel and leisure facility. This year my daughter is clamouring to go abroad, so we are offering it up for another family to enjoy this lovely apartment in an amazing place.
