I purchased a small number of points back in 1997 as a taster to explore the timeshare world. At the time I had two young boys who enjoyed going on holiday so I was looking for freedom of choice in terms of timing and destination, and the comfort of knowing that each resort was top quality. Diamond Resorts attracted me because they also operated a flexible point usage scheme so I had the freedom to use my points at my leisure with no ties.
Since then I have used my points to suit my needs and have had some amazing holidays both in the UK and Europe. Where ever I have stayed both the accommodation and facilities within each resort have been 5-star and absolutely fantastic. Likewise the resort staff have been equally polite and very helpful with a very positive and friendly attitude.
2,000 points is enough to get started and means that you can use the system to your advantage but it also ensures that you aren’t financially hamstrung to do so. You have the ability to bank points from one year to the next one and you can purchase extra points from the next year to add to the current year. All in all this facilitates great flexibility.
There are also hundreds of resorts worldwide at their disposal to suit every ones needs so the array of choice is excellent. You will also find that if you can travel at short notice of less than 59 days you can purchase holidays for up to 50% less points which is a great way of getting even better value for money.
