Marriott Son Antem is situated less than 15 minutes drove from the airport and 20 minutes from central Palma, and is just off to a motorway, so travel to all parts of the island is easy. It is a large low density resort with a strong emphasis on nature conservancy and sustainability.

The villas are spread out amongst the nature reserves and two golf courses, yet close to a central clubhouse, spa, pool, gym and well stocked shop which is open 24 hours a day. Here there are also rooms for fitness and other classes, a golf pros shop and restaurant with terraces outside. Apparently an additional more casual restaurant is also opening late 2025. Not far from the main clubhouse is a traditional finca serving authentic Spanish food which is owned by the family who leased the land to Marriott and is run by family members completely independently. There is also a discreetly located 5 star hotel on the site which offers more alternatives for eating and relaxing in the evening.

Other activities on offer include a number of daily classes such as Pilates and yoga, a golf academy, tennis ( there are a large number of courts and lessons), football, nature walks, and other one off activities. There is a childrens club and throughout the resort between the villas, there are pools and relaxation areas for families, plus other activities for children during school holidays.

The whole resort is beautifully laid out and landscaped to a very high standard. Some areas are more formal and others are treated with a light touch so that local wildlife can flourish. The villas have open views to both the front and back. Downstairs is a very large open plan kitchen/dining room and living area, with a covered patio at the back leading onto a private garden with barbecue. Upstairs are two good bedrooms, one with an en suite and a family bathroom. A very few of the villas have a bedroom downstairs and an extra large terrace upstairs. There is full air conditioning throughout which apparently has just been replaced throughout the resort with a view to sustainability. The villas are almost identical, but as an owner at the resort you can request an approximate location. We have always been given the location of our choice. The villas are serviced every day, given a partial clean mid week and given a full clean weekly.

The thriving local town Llucmajor is just 10 minutes drive away. This had been regenerated in recent years, and has a pedestrianised central square surrounded by cafes and restaurants, and in the evenings when most of the tourists have left, it is full of locals. There is a market held here twice a week and two supermarkets in the town. Around the Llucmajor area there are many walks.
