Owners Description (if available)

Sudwala Lodge is close to Mbombela (Formerly known as Nelspruit), Mpumalanga. The lodge is located between the Kruger National Park and Makobulaan Nature Reserve. Easiest way to get to the lodge is by plain from Johannesburg to Nelspruit (55mins). There are a lot to see and do in Mpumalanga. A few examples are the Blyde River Canyon which includes Bourke’s Luck Potholes, God’s Window, Three Rondavels; Stunning Waterfalls e.g. MacMac Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, Lisdbon Falls, Lone Creek Falls, etc: Hiking Trails, e.g. Forest Falls Nature Walk, e.g. Blyde River Canyon Trail, Barberton Makhanjwa Geotrail, etc; Animal Sanctuaries, e.g. Elephant and Birds of Pray Sanctuaries as well as my personal favourite Eden (Rescued Chimp Sanctuary). Other interesting activities include elephant trekking, MTO trails and if you are into caving, i.e. Sudwala Caves and Echo Caves. The Kruger National Park is easily accessible form the lodge. The last time we visited we arranged a day safari into the park from the lodge. The safari was amazing. On that particular day we were introduced to the big 5 in one session. Mpumalanga also offers a rich history involving the Boer War and Gold mining (Pilgrim’s Rest – old gold mining museum town).
