Twenty years ago we realized that we needed to have a break in our lives. It became a studio at Matchroom Country Club, which we later expanded to a one bedroom apartment (floating, super red fraction).

Our annual week has turned out to be our greatest satisfaction. Relaxation, sun, new impressions, meetings with nice people to be compared with the alternative in Sweden in October/November, filled with rain and darkness. At Matchroom, we have gained strength.

Before retiring, we flew to Malaga and rented a car for exciting excursions. Mijas Pueblo you can walk to, Fuengirola, Benalmadena, Torremolinos, Malaga, Nerja with the caves, Granada and Alhambra, Ronda, Antequera, Sevilla, Cordoba, Cadiz and Gibraltar are all places you can reach during the day by rental car, bus and/or train.

After retirement, we drove to Matchroom because we had the time to do so. As pensioners, we took the cool morning walk before eating the healthy lunch and taking advantage of the sunny and warm afternoon with a book by the pool. The golf course is next for those who are interested.

In the club house, there was always something exciting going on and good food was served at the restaurant if you did not want to cook yourself in your own kitchen. This year, however, the pandemic put a stop to club house activities.

On a number of occasions we have had guests. It works well for four people.

Every time we came to Matchroom, it felt like coming home. Now we are older and hope that someone else can take over this very nice accommodations
